CDL Class A training at H & H XPRESS CDL School covers a range of topics, including CLP preparation, vehicle inspection, backing and parking maneuvers, driving on highways, and safety regulations. Our comprehensive program ensures you are well-prepared for a successful career in trucking. We cover every step in the CDL process.
Yes, you need to pass a written knowledge test to obtain a CLP or Commercial Learner's Permit. The CLP Test is about 2 hours long. The DPS test fee is $25.
The CLP Exam in Texas covers 4 sections that must be passed with an 80% on each part:

We prepare you for the CLP Test and we also administer the CLP Test in our classroom to make the process of getting your CDL smoother. Once you get your CLP, you can train at our yard site on our automatic transmission trucks and on our 53 ft trailers. Once you have trained a minimum of 14 days, you can be eligible, based only upon completion of hours and on the recommendation of your instuctor, for on site CDL testing.
The CDL Test consists of 3 parts:
Pre-trip Inpsection
Range Manuevers
Road Testing
Our CDL test will take an average of 2 hours to complete. Once you pass the test we will schedule an appointment at the Dallas South Mega Center for you to get your CDL at DPS.

As a CDL Class A driver, you can earn between $50,000 and $80,000 annually, depending on your experience, location, and the type of trucking job. Yes, you must be at least 18 years old to obtain a CDL Class A license, but you must be at least 21 years old to drive a commercial vehicle across state lines.
H & H XPRESS CDL School welcomes students of all ages who meet these requirements. We also have 5 other requirements:
Texas Drivers License
Social Security Card
Birth Certificate or Passport or Greencard
GED or High School Diploma
DOT drug screen and DOT physical
With a CDL Class A license, you can drive a variety of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, truck and trailer combinations, tanker trucks, flatbed trucks, and livestock carriers. You can also drive any Class B straight trucks like dump trucks or concrete trucks. We do not do manual transmission at this time.
